No saying "Lend me your ears," Obama eagerly gets Europe's ear

Thursday evening Obama delivered tone poem to America and Europe deals and shared history in Berlin. The huge crowd welcomed Obama with the sense of hope of flexible and less ideological America. They admired his political skills and the readiness to respect opposing points of view. For many in the crowd it was a hope of sharp break with the policies of the Bush administration.

In his speech, Obama questioned then added pointedly, "Will we reject torture and stand for the rule of law?" The crow applauded waving American flags.

According to Eberhard Sandschneider of German Council, Obama did not pull all his cards on the table. He tried to use symbolism of Berlin indicating that he will reach out to Europe as president. In between his speech he clearly mentioned that Europe needs to do more expecially on Afghanistan and Iraq.

In his speech, Obama also mentioned about the need for Europeans and Americans to recognize common challenges in nuclear proliferation, carbon emissions, violence, poverty and genocide.
